5 Car Care Tips from a Trustworthy Auto Center!
Many people are conscious about the environment and are concerned that cleaning their car may be harmful to the environment. Even though they visit their auto center to take care of the "inner workings" of their vehicle, they forego the outside, leaving it dirty (on the outside and inside) for weeks or months at a time. They want to avoid using gallons of water and chemicals harmful to the environment. If you fit in this category, there is good news!
The tips shared by an auto shop below show you some environmentally-friendly ways you can keep your car looking good and smelling fresh.
- Combat Odors -- Tuck in a couple of dryer sheets under the front seat or glove compartment. The essential oils (not harsh chemicals) will keep funky odors away.
- Dry Out -- If you're caught out in a rain or snow shower, or frequent the gym or pool parties, your car's interior is going to absorb some moisture. Dry out your car as soon as possible. If possible, open the windows and let the car breathe overnight. Leaving the windows down a crack can help keep air flowing through to reduce mildew buildup.
- Green Cleaners -- Look for cleaners that use only natural scented oils and cleaning agents so you can breathe freely and know that you're neither harming yourself nor the environment.
- Wash It -- Use your garden hose at home to make your car look shiny and new again. To avoid using excessive gallons of water, and keep the soapy toxic runoff from entering the storm drains, fill two small buckets—one with a "green" cleaning product, and one with clear water. Sponge wash and rinse. Then wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.
- The Birds and the Bees -- Birds and insects leave acidic deposits on your paint. Over time, this acid eats away at your car's paint. Clean the spots with a microfiber cloth as soon as possible to protect your paint and give yourself time before needing another full car wash.
